Kids eBook New Story Learning Colors

Ryan the Fireman was the first of my kids ebooks that got published.  That one was a simple little story that I used to tell a little boy to get him to sleep.  His personal bedtime story.  Now  I am getting very close to publishing another kids ebook of the stories I wrote many years ago, this one is about color.

Shannon Fleet’s imaginative whimsy drawings for a new kids book on color.

Do you  remember, if you’re a parent, when your child was learning colors?    I specifically remember a little girl I was babysitting, coming home from day care and trying to figure out her colors.  Everything she said, everything she pointed to, she would ask, “Is this green today?”

This new kids ebook will have several unique drawings by artist Shannon Fleet, a total of 13 different drawings to help little kids learn their colors.  I am not sure if the Title will be Is it Green Today, or something else.  At this point nothing has jumped out at me, nothing feels more right than something else.

The story line will follow this little boy, and his friend the eagle as they go on a journey of discovering color.  Shannon has drawn different animals to symbolize different colors with a backdrop of one of my favorite places, the Pacific Northwest.

Animals in Learning Colors Kids eBook

  • Wolf
  • Otter
  • Eagle
  • Puffin
  • Raven
  • Salmon
  • Whale
  • Hummingbird
  • Sea Turtle

This kids ebook will have the same add on features as Ryan the FIREMAN. Each picture will be available as a line drawing to print and color.  Kids might choose different colors than we did, but that’s OK, it’s part of learning.  We had a heck of a time trying to figure out what we were going to do for purple, as to my knowledge there aren’t any purple animals.

Well, now it’s time to finish adapting the story to these new pictures Shannon drew, and I can’t wait until it is all done!

  1. This is looking very good indeed! I love the idea of exploring colours with animals in the Pacific Northwest. The cover is beautiful and I have no doubt the written content will be top quality.

Now you’ve got me wondering about purple animals but all I can think of is those who live in tropical oceans and that wouldn’t fit. But I guess you did come up with something in the end.

    • Hi Indigo,
Yes, this was fun working with Shannon on the animal choices. LOL and yes, we did come up with something purple :) My favorite of all the pictures is the color wheel itself. That one will probably be used in most of the promotions. Thank you for stopping by.
