Good morning, and thank you for joining me for our weekly Monday Morning Coffee. So far we have a couple friends sharing coffee together, and it’s such a nice way to start the week.
One thing I have learned in life is that we can’t pick our family, but we can pick our friends. Not all of our friends are people we’ve actually met in person, but over time we share our passions, our opinions, and we support each other when we can.
On May 6th, some of us will get together again for another online photo class facilitated by Kim Manley Ort. I remember the one class where one of our friends, Crystal Touchton , shared some amazing critiques of everyone’s photos. I had worked with Crystal on an internet goal several years before and got to know her through her writings. One thing I didn’t know, was she has a great eye for photography. I actually looked forward to her photos, and her critiques of our work. They held a lot of insight.
This past week, Indigo Janson wrote a post on Creativity, and if I was to think of just one thing that all my online friends have in common it would be creativity. Creativity with photography, or creative in writing, Indigo is always there. The way she supports others, and her positive attitude makes her one of those online friends you really cherish.
Another friend that I first met online, is Thesa Chambers. We both were in the same field, and were part of an online blogging platform. But it was photography that took me to Oregon to meet Thesa. Once again, a good friendship was formed, and remains 5 1/2 years later because we share a love of photography and writing.
These are just a couple of the online friends I’ve made over the years, but all of us have photography in common, and all of us took Kim’s class together. Yes, can you tell I’m excited, and can’t wait for May 6th? Friends and Photography….can it really get any better than that? I don’t think so.
Before I go I want to share one of my photos.
Friends sharing and discovering together, just like our group of friends, but a bit younger
Have a good week everyone!
